WHAT IS EFT / TAPPING?
EFT (Emotional Freedom Techniques) also known as Tapping, is a powerful healing technique that has been proven to effectively resolve a wide range of issues including stress and overwhelm. It is a powerful mind-body-energy technique that can be used as a self-help tool in the moment or on deeper unresolved issues that are interfering with your current quality of life.
Tapping is based on the combined principles of ancient Chinese acupressure and modern Western concepts of wellness. Tapping with the fingertips on specific meridian endpoints of the body, while focusing on issues that are causing stress or physical sensations, helps to calm the nervous system, rewire the brain to respond in healthier ways, and restore the body’s balance of energy. We often think of stress as triggered by something in our lives / outside our body and out of our control. It is triggered externally, but we feel it internally. While we can’t fully control our external world, with EFT / Tapping we can control how we react to it. And when we consistently do that, how we live and experience the external world changes.

How Does EFT Work?

How is it done?
In the moment as a self-help tool: ‘Tapping’ uses your own fingertips to gently stimulate 8 acupressure points along the head, hand and torso, while focused on something that is causing discomfort (thoughts, emotions, physical).
Lasting change and deeper issues: EFT is directed by an accredited practitioner, on a deeper, more skillful level. They will show you how to use the Tapping to bring relief to all parts of the Mind-Body system and the brain’s neural connections that words alone cannot reach. Tapping affects more than the cognitive/rational mind; it also down-regulates the nervous system and accesses the emotional and sensory areas of the limbic area of the brain.
Creating Lasting Change
Author Eckhart Tolle says that “An emotion is the body’s response to a thought”. And when the thought is stressful our body has a stress response. That’s why it’s so difficult to change our reaction to a thought with logic and reason. We need to speak the language of the body and detach from the emotional stress response. It’s when we are calm that possibilities and creativity flow. And that’s where real change can happen.
