Pearl Fractional is a fractional ablative laser by Cutera® that uses an exclusive laser wavelength specifically selected to maximize results in a single treatment while minimizing downtime. This unique treatment has volumizing effects on your skin’s surface and is excellent for treating photoaging, deep dermal imperfections such as wrinkles and acne scars, and difficult-to-treat areas around your mouth and eyes.
Fractional treatments expose only a fraction of the skin to a laser beam in a pattern of tiny dots. With Pearl Fractional, laser pulses place tiny holes in the skin. Columns of damaged tissue are selectively removed, leaving the surrounding skin intact. Tiny holes enable safe treatment and a rapid recovery
This treatment shortens healing time and stimulates the body’s own natural process for creating new collagen, plumping the skin from below and reversing photo aging and other imperfections. It will take about a week to heal; however, it’s worth it when you consider that a single session provides incredible results and you’ll likely only need one treatment.
At the beginning of your Fractional Laser Treatment, your Vitality Skin Expert will freeze the treatment area with an injectable numbing agent. Because of the deep penetration of this type of laser resurfacing, it can be painful. Clients describe the feeling as a series of hot pinches or rubber band snaps. Of course, pain depends on your personal pain tolerance.
Pearl Fractional is an extremely effective treatment for deep dermal imperfections and photoaging and you’ll most likely only require one treatment. You might also consider combining this treatment with other laser resurfacing treatments like Pearl, Limelight IPL, Laser Genesis, Chemical Peels, MicroNeedling, and Dermaplaning to help with other issues such as less severe sun damage like discolouration, sun spots, diffuse redness, broken capillaries and pigmentation as well as dry uneven skin.
Following your treatment, you will feel as though you have a severe sun burn and may experience a yellowish clear discharge coming out of their skin, which is an occlusive barrier coating that comes out of the skin following a deep resurfacing. You may develop flu like symptoms, like when you get a sun burn, which is your body’s autoimmune response to the treatment. Do not apply makeup or go out in the sun for a few days after treatment, do your best to sleep on your back and avoid touching the treated areas, especially with unwashed hands. Over the next 2 – 3 days you will experience more redness, itching and swelling and after a few days your skin will start to peel. Do not peel the skin yourself. Allow your body to shed this dead skin naturally. Apply an antiseptic or healing serum to your skin, like polysporin or colloidal silver. If you leave your house, apply a sunscreen with a minimum SPF30, wear a wide brimmed hat, and use the visor in your car to block the sun. If your symptoms don’t get better, or get worse, after seven days, please contact us right away.
